That’s an interesting title for a blog post guess, for those who are in the music business or love to hear music daily, perhaps very familiar with the title of today’s post. Do I going to make a review about this song? Well, I have a short description about the song, as an introduction, but the point of this post is not about the song.

For the younger generations of music lover, “The Man Who Sold the World” is probably known as a song by Nirvana on their MTV Unplugged in New York album. Well, actually this song is first popularised by David Bowie from his third album, originally released on Mercury Records in November 1970 in the United States and later being released in the UK, in April 1971.

I found an interesting fact about this song, when he performed the number himself in one of his concert, he has some kids that come up afterwards and say he’s cool doing a Nirvana song. And Bowie (perhaps) could only smile and think, “F#ck you, you little tosser!”. Poor David :)

Alright now, enough about the introduction, let’s start with the point of this post.

In almost a year of being a serious blogger, I have encountered many blogs and read interesting posts. Some of the blogger have amazed me of how they can achieve such unbelievable success by just typing some “words” into a blog post and get hundreds of thousand dollars monthly or even…daily?

They can do it, so I’m asking myself, Can I do the same? To be honest I tell to myself “No you won’t”. I was then having a little conversation with myself, “How come you think that I can’t be just like them?”, and myself answering me with simple question “Are you the man who sold the world?”.

I’m dejected, then I took a while to sit down and think of what’s that mean? These questions still unanswered until recently, I have seen one of my post on this blog has been copied. Eureka! Now I know what the meaning of it!

The answer is so simple, and just like David Bowie’s experience with those kids while he sings his own song but being told that he was the one that doing a cover version of the other artist. For me, to have success in blogosphere, we have to be the man who create the world, not the man who sold the world.

David Bowie may the first person that sing the song, but the moment when he’s doing that is not in the same condition when Nirvana releasing their cover version of David Bowie song. The generation is different, and to those who is not having time or interest to get informations, David Bowie is just an artist who sing Nirvana’s song.

Recently, I have seen so many blogger doing a money making blog, they tried so hard to success in blogging by offering the way how to make other person (their visitors) can be success. In my opinion, this type of blogger is the man who sold the world that already exist not the man who create the world.

To get the same level like those blogger who is already success is not as easy as it looks. The moment is long gone after the pioneers of these money making blog have started it at first time. And if you want to repeat their way to success then you are going to be just like David Bowie singing the man who sold the world. You need to create the moment, create your own world!

Now my friends, it’s your choice to decide whether you want to be a David Bowie or a Nirvana. You want to follow other people success (again) or create your own way to get success. I’d like to know what do you think of this post, write your comment about this post. Let’s discuss this :)

Until tomorrow and I leave you with David Bowie’s version of the man who sold the world that I found in youtube.
