bERT&dENNIS design studio is the brainchild of Bert van der Grift and Dennis van der Burch, who work together as a team towards the shared of aesthetic.
Working in a diversity of materials from hardwoods to plastics, their emphasis while doing the designs is always on understatement of clean lines of function, stark absence, ever-present element of surprise and irrepressible sense of humour.
CHESTER
A lighting that homage to the original classic chesterfield couch, a chubby friend in your house. Chester was being manufactured and presented by DARK at INTERIEUR 08.
FOLD
Comfortable lounge chair which created by simply folding on the 2 sides.
INSERT
Based on the most basic construction, Insert gives the playful possibility to have all the different parts in different colors. Currently manufactured by Zuvier.
Bert van der Grift (1978): studied at the Royal academy of fine arts in the Hague and has worked for several design studios, including Sawaya & Moroni.
Dennis van der Burch (1971) : totally self-educated. In 1995 he started his own design upholstery workshop for design classics: meubelstoffeerderij.nl. Providing upholstery for brands including Cassina, Tecno Spa and Vitra, it enjoys a reputation for being one of the best upholstery workshops in the Netherlands.
