Ryuji Nakamura Architect and the exhibition director Eizo Okada have been exhibited the Catenarhythm “Sampo – ribbon project by Mina Perhonen” on last 30th October to 11th November 2008 at Living Design Gallery, Tokyo.

The tile “Catenarhythm” are made from the words of catenary and rhythm, where the meaning of catenary is chin-up, in the word of mathematics. The design concept of the ribbon is sampo (walking).

For this installation, Ryuji made the space with chin-up curve of white ribbons which are hanged from the ceiling to perform the curve, where people can walk over the ribbon like walking in the forest.

The ribbons for this installation project were designed by textile designer Akira Minagawa and Mina Perhonen.
