Contemporary American and European metalsmiths exhibition
The Thinking Body, an exhibition focused metalsmiths artist whose work considers the body in relation to its physical and intellectual environment.

This exhibition consist of a unique body of work created by featured artists that represent multiple perspectives on reinterpreting jewelry, functional objects and constructed spaces, exploring the conceptual ranges of these forms and locations.

Artists included in the exhibition are: Janine Antoni, Cornelia Parker, Gijs Bakker, Joan Parcher, Lauren Fensterstock, Myra Mimlitsch-Gray, Gerd Rothman, Otto Künzli and Melanie Bilenker.

SFMC+D also included special appearance by two Bay Area artists, Nick Dong and Emiko Oye. Both artists will create conceptual and interactive installations respectively, to run concurrently in the galleries and to provide an alternative experience for the viewer.

Nick Dong’s installation will be called The Enlightenment Room, and Emiko Oye will create our MakeArt gallery where visitors can make their own jewelry and objects inspired by both The Thinking Body and The Enlightenment Room.
