Domison award winning urban shop interior design by BlazysGérard
On November 6th, Designer duo BlazysGérard was honored with a Créativité Montréal prize for their design work on a newley opened high end contemporary furniture shop on the Main.
Situated in the city’s design epicenter, this resolutely urban shop fascinates with beauty of its lines and the space’s originality. This Shop is a Flagship for a high end contemporary furniture line in Montreal’s interiors Mecca: the Boulevard St-Laurent.
The limited budget pushed the designers of Domison to imagine a more industrial looking space. The concept as conceived by the team is one of a storybook; the Three little pigs.
One has to question what happens to the structure of each of the pigs houses when blown apart by the big bad wolf. The straw house disperses in a series of panels. The wood house usually distorts itself in a bended kink.
Finally the brick house’s walls usually stay put as the rest of the home flutters into the wind. These contemporary reinterpretations are carefully disposed in the space to ensure light, texture and backdrops for the furniture.
A series of black metal columns punctuate the space on the rediscovered cement floors as the front of the shop is treated in volumes and masses as a blank glossy magazine ready for a new story.
