For some of you, the extreme ironing wasn’t new at all because this “extreme sport” as the founder call it, has streaming the internet since 1997. For those who don’t know what is this all about, let me introduce you or refresh your memory again about this extreme but fun sport.

According to their official site, Extreme Ironing is the latest “danger sport” that combines the thrills of an extreme outdoor activity with the satisfaction of a well-pressed shirt. This all began when an English East Midlands City of Leicester guy Phil ‘Steam’ Shaw, in 1997 gave birth to an extreme sport that combines the dangerous and exciting with the dull and mundane, extreme ironing.

Phil then recruited his housemate Paul and took on the pseudonyms Steam and Spray, to create the first Extreme Ironing act before recruiting further members and take this new born sport as far as Wales and the Lake District in England. In 1998, they setting up an organisation as the ruling body of the semi-official sport, known as the Extreme Ironing Bureau (EIB).
