Interesting movie tagline from a lovely movie that I saw almost 20 years ago. It was one of the great movie that I ever seen in my entire life. It was a story of an unfinished business and drama about father and son. What a nice gift if you give this to your father on the upcoming father’s day.

The movie I’m talking about is Field of Dreams. If you never saw the movie before, this movie tells about a story of Ray Kinsella (Kevin Costner), an Iowa corn farmer who one day suddenly heard mysterious sound coming from his corn field, saying “If you build it, they will come”.

imageLater then, being curious of that sound, Ray seeks out a reclusive author Terence ‘Terry’ Mann, played by the actor James Earl Jones.

Ray ask Terry to help him understand the meaning of the message and what to build upon his corn field. When they meet each other, there are some interesting quotes from the conversations between Ray and Terry, as copied from the internet movie database (imdb).

“By the time I was ten, playing baseball got to be like eating vegetables or taking out the garbage. So when I was 14, I started to refuse” Ray said, “Could you believe that? An American boy refusing to play catch with his father.”
“Why 14?” Terry ask him
“That’s when I read ‘The Boat Rocker’ by Terence Mann.”

At the near end of the movie, they both understand that the whisper is actually for both of them and a doctor. When Ray finally decide to work on build a baseball field, his daughter Karin (Gaby Hoffmann) was felt down from the sitting bench, Dr. Archibald ‘Moonlight’ Graham (Burt Lancaster) coming to help her, and later the three of them knows that they are connected each other to the message and they have an unfinished business.

imageAnd when the end is coming in, this movie is giving us the answer of all the questions that we might have been thinking about.

Just like Ray, the question is why he must build the baseball field in the middle of a corn field?.

It was the appearance of the ghosts of Shoeless Joe Jackson (Ray Liotta) and the other seven Chicago White Sox players. What happened next to Ray, Terry and Archie? Are their dreams finally come true?

You’ve got to see this movie if you haven’t. Trust me, this is the movie that will make you call your father right away! Here’s the link to buy this movie and to send a Field of Dreams postcard to your father, friends or anyone that you care.
