Katie Pretti has something that matters at LE Gallery
Pretti found herself in a studio in Toronto besides Buenos Aires and Brooklyn after her last major exhibition at LE Gallery, Toronto, Canada.

Producing new work on both canvas and paper, Pretti keeps exploring the sensations and experience of displacement, discomfort and disillusion on her new works. Her practice towards the large scale expression as an artist, She has firmly planting herself as one of Canada’s rising emerging artists.

Her current exhibition at LE Gallery “Something That Matters” starting from October 22nd to November 16th. Public viewing will be held from October 24th, 2008 from 7-10pm.
Born July 6, 1980, Katie Bond Pretti is a Toronto based artist who is interested in the ability to employ the formal concerns of line and colour to achieve narrative in semi-abstracted form.

Pretti has released her first publication, a book entitled “Sonority of Words” last fall, in Toronto by Art Metropole, featured at the 2007 NYC Art Book Fair, and subsequently added to the collection of The National Gallery of Canada.
Her works in ink, oil, watercolour, and graphite have been exhibited at Galerie Simon Blais in Montreal, Lehmann Leskiw Fine Art in Toronto, and Bjornson Kajiwara Gallery in Vancouver.
Her work also featured in Elle Canada, Fashion Magazine, Canadian House and Home, and was included as a feature artist in a Hudsons Bay Company campaign during the recent Toronto International Film Festival.
