Dear Green friends, as the continuity of Greenpeace’s campaign for climate-protecting transport legislation, over 50,000 people (including You) have signed the petition demanding France and Germany to back down on dirty deal to sell out the climate for cars.
Because of the wonderfull and tireless public pressure and concerns, we are happy to announce that the future of their deal could be in trouble, meaning we are going to win again. Thanks to all of you who has signed the petition, and if you haven’t done it yet, there’s still time to sign the petition to put more pressure on Europe’s biggest car company, Volkswagen by going to this page or sending this e-card to your friends, especially any VW drivers you know.
From the Greenpeace statement last week, the CEO of Fiat, Sergio Marchionne has spoken out against proposals in the legislation aimed at protecting German’s car industry.
“This type of nonsense is clearly the result of political pressures that have been hard at work to protect particular participants in the European automotive market.” Marchionne said, “Fiat as a group will not tolerate them and will do everything in its power to protect its economic interests in a manner consistent with the Commission’s objective in substantially reducing CO2 emissions.”
And from Greenpeace latest report of the “Driving Climate Change” campaign, they have reveals how the car industry (led by the German car companies) has misled and manipulated Europe’s policy makers for the past 17 years. It’s time to stop them from imposing another mandatory limits on carbon emission reduction.
