Morale issues from the nature of an Adenium Obesum
There’s always something that we, the human being, can learn from nature. From what we usually seen as a simple, tiny and nothing special can give us good lessons. Today I want to write about my experience with a popular houseplant Adenium Obesum.

This plant pictured above is starting to grown its flower again after almost one year has none of it. My wife got it as a present from her friend, and at that time it has some beautiful flowers but never have any single flower again until couple weeks ago when a friend told my wife that this plant need to be placed in sunny place.
And so we try the suggestion to put it into more sunny place and yes, it works great as we get the result immediately in just one week. Believe it or not, me and my wife have learn something from adenium, that we have to put everything in its place and to treat anything properly to get the best result.
My wife and I were so excited, and try to get more information about Adenium from the internet through wikipedia. From them we know that Adenium is a common plant in most temperate regions because requires a sunny location to grow up to its maximum of beauty. If grown indoor or during winter, this plant need a minimum temperature of 10 °C.
Also from wikipedia, Adenium is a genus of flowering plants in the family Apocynaceae, containing a single species, Adenium obesum, also known as Sabi Star, Kudu or Desert-rose. It is native to tropical and subtropical eastern and southern Africa and Arabia.
Due to its resemblance to plumeria, and the fact that it was introduced to the Philippines from Bangkok, Thailand, the plant was also called as Bangkok kalachuchi in the Philippines, while in Indonesia, we call this plant “Kamboja Jepang”, not sure where or why it gets that name but maybe because of its bonsai shape.
So, the other morale issue from our experience is to use the internet to learn, because I wish we had look for the information about adenium sooner, so we don’t have to wait for this long to see our plant flowering again ![]()
