The largest and most comprehensive display to date to examine the work of the acclaimed Swiss architect, PETER ZUMTHOR: BUILDINGS AND PROJECTS 1986/2007, organized by Kunsthaus Bregenz (KUB).

The exhibition’s presentation in Lisbon is featuring 29 buildings and projects, 2 life-size video installations, 6 large-scale models and a wealth of plans, sketches and drawings, the exhibition affords an indepth look at Zumthor’s most recent output and most significantly, his creative processes, conceptual logics and work methodology.

Apart from examining Zumthor’s remarkable body of work, the exhibition echoes and introduces the theme for the Experimentadesign Lisboa 2009 Biennale – “It’s About Time” – in an incisive, multidimensional manner, in sync with the prevailing trends and lines of discussions in culture today.

The exhibition will run from September 6 to November 2, 2008 at LX Factory, a vibrant new cultural venue in Lisbon located in the river-side area of Alcântara.
This set of more than 3000m2 factory buildings and warehouses was awarded the status of industrial heritage site and converted into a centre for experimental, multidisciplinary artistic manifestations, shared by several artist and hosting a lively programme of performances and shows.
