Shodo, exhibition the spirit of Japan in shape
As part of the Torino 2008 World Design Capital event, the School of Culture Yoshin Ryu will exhibited Japan, the spirit in shape with an exposure of SHODO (Art of Calligraphy) in the historical wine cellars Palazzo Barolo.

The art of SHODO demands the mastery of the feature, the immediacy of the gesture, the continuity of the rhythm, the energy control to the paint-brush and does not tolerate any mistake in the process.

The challenge while doing a SHODO is to transmit the spirit, the sense, and feelings on the sheet of paper or other media, so that each drawn character is showing the expression of the artist from their heart.

The exhibition will display around fifty works from the Shodo Masters Ogawa Taizan and Imae Midori, which also include a demonstration and workshop of the Japanese Tea Ceremony by Horiuchi Sanae.
