Gallery Hanahou has challenged 32 artists from all backgrounds and mediums to drop their brushes and computer mice and see what they can do with only a B2 pencil and a piece of paper.

Just as compelling as the results on the gallery walls will be the visitors’ reactions to so many artistic viewpoints rendered in shades of gray. The pencils the artists use to create their work will be included with sale of the artwork.

The exhibition started from October 16 until November 20, 2008, displays the unusual and surprising all-pencil artwork by artists working outside of their chosen mediums, including an extremely rare analog piece by Kenzo Minami, who is acclaimed worldwide for his digital masterpieces.

Other participants include Team Macho, the off-beat, all-man collective from Canada, and Robbie Guertin, who plays in the band Clap Your Hands Say Yeah and collaborates with others on album artwork.
