The Angle of light series from Tom Dixon
Self-taught designer-maker early 1980s in London and as head of design at the Habitat retail chain and now Artek, the Finnish furniture manufacturer, Tom Dixon has combined the creative side with commercial thougt.

Born in Sfax, Tunisia in 1959, and brought to England as a toddler, he grew up in London. His days after drop-out from art school are playing as bass guitar in the band Funkapolitan and organised warehouse parties.
Tom Dixon become a designer-maker in 1983 after having a motorcycle accident, and learn how to designing after discovering welding technique when trying to repair his motorbike.
Angle Floor Light

A floor light with functional cantilever design it allows the light to easily slide under sofas and tables. Made from extruded aluminium and rotating 180 degrees, it provides directional and discreet lighting.

Height: 140cm, Length of Base: 57cm, Depth of Base: 55cm, Length of Lamp: 140cm.
Angle Table Light

Designed as a task light, the functional cantilever design allows for a laptop or paperwork to fit neatly underneath. The plate on the base can also be removed and the light can be permanently secured on a table ideal for the commercial environment.

Made from extruded aluminium with fluorescent tube light it provides directional and discreet lighting. Overall Length 78cm, Width of Base Plate 28cm, Height 34cm.
Angle Wall Light
The Angle Wall Light is designed for use in hallways allowing for directional and discreet lighting and is best grouped in a line creating a dramatic aesthetic.

The Angle Wall Light is made from extruded aluminium with fluorescent tube light. Angle Wall Light: Width 23cm, Height 78cm.

So smple, but so beautiful. A lot of the images above give me a slight feeling of some of Apple’s products, I guess because of the sleek modern and simple feel. Thanks so much for sharing
