Recently we have seen so many furnitures are designed with the label of “futuristic”, but many of them are non-futuristic at all but weird looking. Here I want to share some creations from the past designers that have the essence of “futuristic” in their designs.

Egg Chair by Peter Ghyczy 1968

The plastic upholstered cushion chair ‘Egg’, also known as the ‘Oeuf’, chair was designed by the Hungarian designer Peter Ghyczy in 1968 and produce by Reuter before being re-introduced again in 2001 by his son Felix under the their own brand name Ghyczy Novo.

Tomato Chair by Eero Aarnio 1971

Tomato is an intelligent combination of 3 circles with same diameter, where the two of them act as the chair armrests and the other one stretched up to form a comfortable back.

Formula Chair by Eero Aarnio 1998

Described by Eero Aarnio as the best chair that he ever designed, The Formula Chair is the result of the challenge to combine the sculptural elements with the ergonomic solutions for more comfortable sitting.
