Yahoo vs Google, Who is Telling You The Truth?
First of all, please forgive me if there’s nothing new about this. I just wondering why my blog suddenly disappear from yahoo directory since I’m using sitemap and change my site into wordpress.
My magpieszone.com used to be travelling up-and-down between page 2 and 4 in google and yahoo search engine result page. But since migrating to the wordpress platform and start using xml sitemap plugin, my blog is gone from yahoo. Well, I have try to add the new url again using yahoo publisher, add yahoo key and manually submit the sitemap.
Honestly, I have not too bother about page rank, my alexa ranking was dropped from 2 millions-or-so into 4-millions-whatsoever
But, sometimes, to get attention from advertisers it can be very useful if we can tell them that this site is in page 1 on google or yahoo. I have a funny experience with one “potential” advertiser. I have an email from them and tell me how they see my blog as a good one and would love to place advertisement there.
Frankly, without being arrogant I didn’t reply their email because I know that they will run away when they know about my site traffic. But they keep sending me emails, almost like a spam so I finally make response. Later, they ask me about my site last 2 days traffic and page views, so I send them one. You know what come next? They refused to approve my site because I only have 25 visitors/day and they think that my site is having alot of traffic
Well, that’s it. I know they are purely working for business so I don’t blame them for it.
Back to yahoo vs google. I have checked my xml-sitemap report again this morning, and see that finally YAHOO was successfully notified about changes on my blog. Now I’m looking forward to see my blog again on their SER page.
