Young illustrators award 2008
This year Young Illustrators Award 2008 will be held in Zurich, Switzerland. The 20 selected winners will have their works shown at the international festival for contemporary graphic and also will be given the possibility to create one new “Limited Edition-watch“ for Swatch.
Beside winning the prices and to exhibit their work, there’s also possibility of getting contracts with agencies as well as publications in various magazines. If you interested to submit your work, you can get the registration form here.
Every year at two different creative hot spots in Europe, the exhibition displays over 400 works from more than 60 artists, over the course of two weeks. Celebrating the illustrative arts, to discover new talents, exchange ideas between the artists, marvel at progressive technologies, and rediscover forgotten styles in illustration.

First established in Berlin in 2006 with Pascal Johanssen as the exhibition’s curator. Illustrative exhibition display has been held twice in Berlin (2006/2007) and once in Paris (2007).

The jury comprises leading editors of graphic and design publications such as Julius Wiedemann (Illustration now, Taschen Verlag/Germany), Thierry Hausermann (ID Pure, Switzerland), Cherie Federico (Aesthetica Magazine, UK) and Taketo Oguchi (Shift, Japan).

I think this kind of event should be held in here too, i bet hundreds of illustrators following the competition…

I think the student of ITB in Bandung ever had this kind of competition before, but dunno if they’re still doing it now.
